RTC-22 Rolled over ready for fit out

The Buckley Yacht Design prototype modern trailer sailer, is well underway with the hull now complete.

The fit out has started and all plans are on track to debut the vessel at Southampton Boat Show 2014.

The RTC 22 is a 6.8M lifting keel sailing boat offering exhilarating sailing that will be trailable and will accommodate 4 berths. A functional day sailer, the lifting keel will allow owners to explore rivers and get close to beaches, a portable toilet and stove means that even longer trips are possible. The functional layout will allow for anything from family cruising to short or single handed sailing but the main selling point, driving this entry level design, is that it will be affordable to buy and own. BYD hope that this affordable sailing boat will help to encourage prospective boat owners to get on the water.

This is the smallest design in the BYD range but doesn’t compromise on quality or our design ethos. Owning a boat can be expensive, so they have focused on making the boat affordable and easy to maintain. As the boat is trailable owners have the option of not having to pay expensive mooring fees.

Composite Mouldings has been appointed the main contractor to build and fit out the vessels.
