Superyacht design and engineering works for Composite Manufacturing and Design Ltd
The 50m Motor Yacht ‘Alicia’ was built by Defoe Shipbuilding Co. in 1930 and refitted by Southampton Marine Services in 2018. Buckley Yacht Design was employed to carry out structural design engineering works and Composite Manufacturing and Design Ltd carried out the construction of various components including:
- Composite Rivet Strips
- Carbon Fibre Passerelle
- Composite Stabiliser Tops
- Anchor Dodgers
- Window Protection Boards
- Depth Sounder Blocks
BYD and CMDL have also worked with SMS Group on other Superyachts including “Shemara” and “Lady A.” With the ability to design, specify, CNC and build components turnkey solutions can be offered to clients for all their composite requirements.
