The Point Roof Light
05/08/2009
Composite Mouldings Ltd (CML) is pleased to announce being contracted to build two unique roof lights for The Point centre in Eastleigh, Southampton. The GRP and FRP moulder based in Marchwood, Southampton has been contracted by Eastleigh Borough council due to their ability to create complex shapes. The roof lights which are to be installed on top of The Points new purpose built studio space are being built by means of traditional boat building techniques to achieve the desired curvature that the structure encompasses.
Warwick Buckley, Managing Director of CML says “We are very happy to be involved with this project, in actual fact what the designers want plays very well to what can be achieved by our shipwrights, although they are more accustomed to applying these skills to boat building, but apart from that the methods are the same”
The Point in Eastleigh, now firmly established as one of the south east’s liveliest performing arts venues, are extending their premises. The expansion project has been given the name “phase3”. Prospective donators can support the project by becoming a “squarefooter” by donating £25 for every 1 square foot of floor space in the new extension and being recognized on the squarefooter name board.
Composite Mouldings Ltd, established in 2004, has quickly built a strong track record for producing high specification pleasure and commercial vessels. CML manufacture Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP), Fibre Reinforced Polyester (FRP) mould tools, plugs and high quality mouldings at their 32,000 sq ft facility in Marchwood, Southampton.
