Grignard enters UK marine market
By IBI Magazine
Grignard, the US manufacturer of specialised chemicals, has entered the
UK marine market with a range of mould release waxes, which range from
paste wax to semi-permanent liquid systems.
The
company, which was founded in Newark, New Jersey in 1963, has appointed
Southampton-based Composite Mouldings Ltd to offer Grignard products
for sale in the UK. Since 2008 Grignard has based its European
operations in Holland.
"We feel we have a great opportunity with
the Grignard range of waxes, especially in the current climate as
manufacturers are looking to tighten production times and cost," says
Tommi Buckley of Composite Mouldings. "A product like this will help in
achieving that."
Grignard will initially launch its mold
release paste wax, Mold Magic. The product combines the performance of
pure carnauba wax with semi-permanent polymer chemistry to deliver
exceptional performance with fewer applications, and more pulls with
less work.
"Our products have been thoroughly tested by our
chemical engineers and there are decades of experience behind them,"
says Etienne Grignard, who currently heads the company.
In just four years, Grignard has developed its mould release sales in over 40 countries worldwide.
